Visitors

Jay's sister, Jan, and her husband, Phil, stopped by Saturday when they had a brief layover in Portland on their way from Hawaii back home to Galveston, Indiana. We were so excited to have them over! We had breakfast, saw their amazing pictures of their trip, and then drove up to Vista House to show them the view of our beautiful gorge. (I guess that was expecting a lot since they'd just spent a week in Hawaii!)

The winds were so strong that the van kept rocking back and forth and we didn't even get out. The clouds, making the sky it's usual overcast grey, hid most everything, but we had a bit of a view of the Washington side directly across from us. We had to hurry them back to the airport. As soon as their plane left, the clouds blew away and the winds died down and we had a perfectly sunny spring day. Really Jan and Phil, we live in a wonderful place. Please come again.

(Sorry Phil looks asleep in this picture. They had flown all night, but he really didn't show it at all. My good picture of him came out all blurry. What WAS my hair trying to say here anyway?)
