Though it's been years since I was an actual piano teacher, that's why we originally bought a mirror to go over the piano. It gives eye contact with the student while they play piano. Since I quit teaching other people I have hundreds of hours of fond memories of accompanying people, especially my own kids. I love to hear my kids sing or play the violin or piano and in the past the flute or clarinet as well. I look into my piano mirror and see so many happy ghosts.
